MemberI didn’t really know if this was a good place to post this but after not being able to make any sense of what they were telling me over at the wordpress site, I thought I would at least try. I am new to WordPress so it is all still a bit foggy.
I have .php that currently runs Cutenews. I hate Cutenews and I don’t want to leave my site open to getting hacked. I want the site to run like this one: http://bailee-madison.com/ where the news is published by WordPress but every other page is in .php. Can anyone help?
Where I want to use it on mine: http://i52.tinypic.com/2h4dlpw.jpg
Thanks

MemberThe wonderful world of WordPress allow you to create pages as well as posts, so you could have your entire site using WordPress.
If you’re asking how to set up a WordPress install, there are a bajillion resources out there. Our very own Chris Coyier has a few himself:

MemberI really don’t want the whole site run in WordPress. I want to keep my content pages in .php
I already have wordpress installed onto my server, what I don’t get is how I get the news to show up in a certain part of my website and as I am pretty new to this, I don’t really get the tutorials all that much

MemberIf you’re going to be using WordPress to display news, you might as well create your pages in WP as well. Is there any reason you don’t want to do that?
You’ll need to convert your HTML/CSS templates into WordPress templates and use it as a ‘theme’ within WordPress.
Try this as well, didn’t look at it, but seemed thorough:

If you’re looking for a quick and short answer, I’m afraid nobody will be able to provide it to you.

MemberIf you do your news in WordPress you should indeed use it for pages aswell. But I think you will have to read up on WordPress, how it works. And fully understand it. I could easily give you a way to include wordpress news on a PHP page and have all the pages in .php. But you won’t know anything about wordpress…
