How to Create a Fluid Width Web Site When the Background is a no-repeat image

Hi

I have create a website. which the background image is none repeatable (image width is 1500px x 1292px) I have given the background width:100% and height:1292px. my problem is when the site is viewed in 800 x 600 it it has jumped over, how can I fix this.

I read the perfect full page background image article and the background works great but I can’t get the header and footer to display. They appear in a blink but then they disappear. The header and footer are centered and anchored in the top and the bottom of the page). Does anyone have a way of keeping content fixed at the top and bottom of the page?
