Hi Freelancers,
How often do you turn work away in a month or year?
How many projects do you turn away before you find the right project?
James.
Hi Alen,
I mean the “right project” as in the project you choose to accept after you have 1 or more other projects.
I do not refuse work, I am just curious as to whether anyone on here does?
James.
Check out the book “Design is a Job” by Mike Montiero, it’s a good go-to for these kinds of questions.
You should constantly be evaluating if you’ll be right for the client’s needs, but you should also evaluate if the client is right for you. It’s a two-way street.
Normally turning down a job will open up a new, better one… happens all the time.
Ok so in your case you have turned down work and a better project has come along? How often do you turn down work in a month or year?
It has happened yes.
When I was freelancing I would turn jobs down regularly. Once word gets around that you’re reliable and good, things start falling into your lap.
Ok thanks guys.
