    I have this code and I wanted the p in the dive to end up in the center of the div, and I also want the divs animation to trigger when its style is changed to black from none. I have it set to trigger when you hover over it just to see it work.

    I’m really not clear on what you are expecting to have happen but I think you’ll need to apply an extra class (instead of the hover) when triggering the display change.
