Hit enter for form field

I use jquery to put a value inside a form field when they select a value from elsewhere. When that happens, I want to simulate them hitting the enter key would I do that

you mean, you like to automatically jump to another page depending on what the user selected without having the need to use the Enter key?

create a condition after the selection has been made then use use header() to redirect.
