Hi everyone,
I’m new to the forum, and new to html! And I’m in a pickle
I’m making a site for a client who is releasing his movie through streaming instead of downloading. We have the streaming and paypal set up, but we don’t want someone to be able just to copy and paste the url to the stream and release it to the public.
Would I be able to successfully mask the url so it’s a bit harder for people to steal it?
I thought of an i-frame, but I know some browsers don’t support i-frames. It would be a bit shitty if someone paid for the movie and then wasn’t even able to play it.
If I’m being to vague, let me know, I’m at a bit of a loss.
Thanks for your help! :D
Yeah, I’m also interested in implementing one of these stuff, see if someone has already wrote a plugin about it. Originally, I got the idea from lynda.com, where they allow you to watch some sample videos in a lightbox, and the URL didn’t change at all.
I did implement a lightbox, but didn’t work quite as well as I’d expect. I did a search for plugins in WordPress, but it turns out there are a lot of plugins used to mask affiliate links. Can it also be used to mask the URL for the videos? Has anyone tried to do so?

Hi Senff,
I have seen a couple of websites like ixwebhosting.com (I think that’s the right URL), where you can move literally to any page and still have the same URL title. How did they do that? HTACCESS rules?

I am aware of how easy it is to hide the url, but this client is pushed for time, and I guess he doesn’t mind sloppiness for now and fine-tuning later.
Thanks for all your help, is there any good resource to make a cookie? I’m not too familiar with server-side parts of web design.
Thanks @sneff, i was googling the wrong keywords
