I have a website using Google Fonts Open Sans. The font is working fine with the notable exception of Safari on the iPad and my Desktop (1920 x 1080 screen size). I can’t get my laptop to show this error no matter how hard I try.
The site is at http://hopeproject.co.nz/sneakpeek … its built on this theme http://wp2.artlessthemes.com/flatoparallax/ from Themeforest but has been quite modified.
What is happening is that the heading fonts are showing EXTRA BOLD in Safari. I have specified the weight to be 600, the font comes in that weight … and it is working just fine in Firefox and Chrome … and even in IE. But Safari is showing them not just as bold … but BOLDER.
I am at a complete loss as to what I have done to cause this and how I can fix it! Any tips/advice would be much appreciated.
I’m getting two completely different pages between Chrome and Safari for the same URL.
For Chrome I see an actual website but for Safari I see a launch page.
Did you use the http://hopeproject.co.nz/sneakpeek url for both browsers?
Seeing the same result as well. Perhaps this is on Windows?
Thanks for checking this out.
No, its on OS X and the problem is not constant – its intermittant. If you open the nav menu and click on the contact link – often it will change to the bold font. On the iPad it often happens when you change from Portrait to Landscape orientation.
I can’t make my laptop (also OS X) show the heavy font at all.
Just an update … it was caused by a plugin conflict … shoulda checked that first!!
Thanks for your help!
