okay, so I’m starting over! I’ve always used tables to create my pages, but now I want my header/top to spread across the entire page, like Ted Baker for example: http://www.tedbaker.com/uk/Womens/Explore/Dresses-for-Weddings/c/Wedding_Dresses

So I started creating layers, which I thought were great until they change from browser to browser, version to version. Then, I read that layers are a stupid idea when creating headings etc.

So, then I think I’ll switch back to tables, but I can’t get my header table to stretch the length of the screen. I have no padding, 100% width, but it just won’t do it. Then on a forum about tables is a conversation about not using tables for this sort of thing… I can’t win!!

Anyone have any thoughts or advice on this please -I’m going round in circles!

    Thank you, Kitty

Thats what I needed – so no table, no layer, just css! Thanks so much
