    Im doing a menu with submenus with only css but Im having two issues that I dont understand why they are happening.

    First issue is that, when I hover my menu items, I want a gray background hover my menu item, but I dont want that this background occupy entire menu height. I just want a background above my menu link.

    Second issue, is that Im giving a border-bottom to my dropDownMenu li ul li, but this border does not occupy the entire width of my li ul li element. As you can see in my fiddle.

    .dropDownMenu li ul li {
    width: 305px;
    border-bottom:4px solid red;
    }

    Here I have what I have: http://jsfiddle.net/jcak/Lmc4mj2u/3/

    Can you give me a help trying to fix this?

    Thank you very much for your help. I really forgot to put my html 3rd menu level.

    And I’m trying to use my my third level menu in your pen, but I’m having some problems.

    I’m trying to solve but without success, my third level menu always appears above my second level menu. Do you see why this is happening?
