Have a question on G-Zip and content delivery

  • # January 9, 2010 at 6:56 pm

I have Apache and I’m on a shared Linux server. My main question is this: If I zip up all my javascript and css into one big zipped file. What do I have to do to make the browsers download/use that zipped file and not each file individually? How does the browser know to use my zipped up file? Do I specify what file to use in my html?

I’m using this great method: To try and speed things up. Everything is ready to go, but I do not have my files zipped. Once I do, I’m just confused as to how I direct the browsers to use that zipped file.
