    Hi,

    I’m building a site using HTML5, but I can’t get IE 7 and 8 to recognize the header, nav and footer elements.

    I’m using HTML5 Shiv (http://code.google.com/p/html5shiv/), which works great on other sites I’ve used it for, but for some reason it’s not working on this one. I know the code I’ve used to implement it is correct:

    And I’ve declared all the elements display:block as well:

    article, aside, details, figcaption, figure, footer, header, hgroup, menu, nav, section {display:block;}

    The site is http://www.ritterchurch.org/

    Can anyone tell me what I’m missing?

    Try adding it above any other css stylesheet

    When I do that, IE7 seems to recognize some elements, but then the site won’t load at all in IE8.

    Probably because you’re not closing your conditional stylesheet correctly.

    That was exactly it. Thank you very much!
