Gallery with animated filtering?

I have this gallery of projects (is using flexslider) and I want to add animated filtering to it.

I googled a lot but couldn’t find any solution with the whole package so now I’m trying to integrate mixitup with flexslider. My problem is the difference between both libraries markups.

I tried to build this jsfiddle to show the problem but couldn’t make flexslider work: http://jsfiddle.net/545PF/1/

I’m trying to build the filtering thing for myself but I can’t animate the transition when I’m removing elements.

Any idea how to animate this?
