ParticipantHey everyone,
I’m in the process of putting a portfolio together and start searching for internships as a front-end Developer.
Right now my site is pretty basic and I know I need more, but I’m not sure what exactly I should add to make it stand out.
Here’s my website – http://www.colette-pitamba.com
I would love feedback on where I need to improve or what I need to add to show potential employers.
Thanks,
Colette

ParticipantThey’re only details but I would give the small text on the front page a bit more contrast (slightly darker or a bit of text shadow?). And the videos on the ‘Mantra’ page don’t line up very nice on my 1280px width. The third one goes to the bottom, leaving quite a gap on the right.
Good luck with the job hunt in any case. :-)

ParticipantWhat mobile device are you using? I was only able to test on iPhone. Can you share a screenshot if you don’t mind?
edit
So I checked Chrome device mode and see a lot of devices. Are there any examples of support for all those devices? I also used aspect ratio as a rule in my CSS for media queries. Should I take that out to support more devices with screen width instead?Minifying my files is something I considered and will do.
I’ll totally check out Grunt and Gulp. Any preference between the two?

ParticipantI was wondering if there was a media query cheat sheet which could be used for most or all mobile devices. The long list of devices is pretty scary, lol. How many breakpoints does one need?

Participant@shaneisme Also, this site was put together in 12 hours because I was racing to a submission deadline. Still no excuse for all the errors though.

Participant@shaneisme I did set up break points for the web, but it would break via mobile(iPhone specifically). I’m going to take them out after spring break and hack at it again.

Participant@shaneisme That clears things up for me. Thanks!
