    Hey all,

for a while now I’ve been seeing the same problem with some (non-websafe, I must mention) fonts on line, which is hiding their descenders with no reason.

Even with huge leading (line-height of 2, 3, 4…) and huge font sizes (200+ px), the descenders remain hidden which drives me to the conclusion that’s the font’s “default,” but I’m not at all satisfied with that answer so I wanted to ask my question on these forums.

Specifically, for my example I’m talking about the free font Tinos. You can see an example screenshot here.

Any wise coder/head-tag closer out there know how to solve this? :)

Unfortunately, this is a known problem that (as far as I’m aware) doesn’t have a fix.

If you play around with it, you’ll see that only specific sizes will show them. If you go one pixel at a time (ie, font-size: 20px, font-size: 21px, etc.) you’ll see which size properly shows it.
