    I’m not sure if I’m doing this the best way. It works great except for, yes that’s right IE7. Don’t give a hoot about IE6.

    This is in a WordPress child theme. I put a div between the opening body tag and the main content ‘wrap’. I positioned it absolute, set the z-index’s so the main (static) content slides across when the browser window’s width is reduced. I then put my 1600px image as a background and set it to be centered. I ran a sliver across the body background that matches this div’s bg image. It’s all good but IE7 stops the bg image at the left side of the 960px content and has a horizontal scroll.

    Ok too wordy, here’s the test I’m running;

    Any thoughts or suggestions would be much appreciated.
