    Hi,

    I read this article:
    http://tomdale.net/2013/05/evergreen-browsers/

I work on new responsive web for client.
I am preparing contract. Just not sure how to cover the part which states in what browsers and what versions it displays properly.

I read an article which said “cover last 3 version” of each browser to be safe in your contract.
And yes, this issue is mostly related to IE browser.
I will be using HTML5, CSS3, MEDIA QUERIES so I would like to include in the contract only IE 9 and above.

I use this to show client current versions:
    http://browsehappy.com/?locale=en

How do you guys go about this when working for a client ?

It is very small client only 1000 visits a year in average but you are right. It is about principle and logic.

Looking into Google Analytics of the site:

    • IE visits total in last 3 years = 887
    • v. 8 = 458
    • v.9 = 240
    • v.10 = 91
    • v.7 = 60
    • v.11 = 29
    • v.6 = 9

Well most visits are from CHROME, 2nd is IE where v.8 is dominant.

    6 months: IE = 160 visits

    • v. 8 = 49
    • v. 10 = 45
    • v. 9 = 33
    • v. 11 = 29
    • v. 7 = 4

Question is if to support it or not. And the owner himself does not care about IE much and uses FireFox anyway :)

So I guess that 100 visits (declining) / year in IE 8 could be safely ignored and the focus put on developing the site in IE9 + above.

You are right I am just being lazy I guess. Will be using TWBS anyway: http://getbootstrap.com/getting-started/

So the HTML 5 and MQ are taken care of anyway.
