I’m creating a WP theme, where I style the navigation based on the URL – eg. http://www.url.com/STYLEBASEDONTHIS/

This works great for the my current permalink structure as the site is really a page based CMS, but for the blog section but for any post pages it messes up the navigation.

Is there a way to establish if the page is a “Post” rather than a page, or if the “Single” Template is being used?

    Thanks all!

Edit: amazing what a bit of googling can do – http://jaredheinrichs.com/wordpress-conditional-tags.html

That’s pretty up to date as of right now, but just for longevity and bookmarking sake, you’ll probably want to reference this: http://codex.wordpress.org/Conditional_Tags
