So all of my galleries are in Horizontal scroll format (my site is running on a gallery template). It works fine while scrolling through the work. But due to design of the site additional vertical scroll is created when expending the site index. It does not detect the script and one has to manually click and drag the scroll bar. Any way to make it detect the script so one could just scroll with the mouse wheel?

I think it’s a tricky situation from a usability point of view. Having a scrollbar in the menu is annoying but expanding it means moving the images down, which is also annoying. I tried removing the fixed width and height from the #index div and this moves your menu to the left giving it a lot of space to expand. I know this doesn’t answer your question but I suggest you give it a try
