    as described here:
    http://zestyping.livejournal.com/176046.html

    are there any other solutions to this besides what he describes?
    adding a 1 pixel border to the edge of the object?

    Thanks.

    What’s your problem with this issue…?

    This works just if you have a solid color background, if not, try with

    #example{
    border-width: 1px;
    border-style: dotted;
    border-color: transparent transparent #000 transparent;
    }

    I wish I could attach a screenshot. I tried both of your solutions, but neither fixed the issue.
    The double dot – shows up only on certain widths, I think it is only when the width is an odd number of pixels wide.

    The solution in the linked article – add a border-right: 1px solid #fff; – does work but it makes the dotted line one pixel shorter than the width of the div, also doesn’t work on gradient or image backgrounds. I’m working with extremely meticulous designers.
