CSS extension file problem in Firebug

I am using Firebug to try out positioning of certain elements on a page I’m designing. Problem is I can’t find the CSS in CSSEdit that is showing in Firebug.
The file extension in Firebug is showing (left.css) what is that because I have the style.css file open in CSSEdit and there isn’t a file called left.css in the package contents folder of the Theme I’m customising in RW.

Where do I find that file and why is it showing that extension?
