CSS Experiment – Social Media

  • # July 25, 2011 at 5:39 am

I saw some beautiful sharing buttons on Forrst and decided to replicate them using CSS.

    Pure CSS Sharing Buttons

I would love some feedback, and suggestions on how my coding could be improved. Thanks in advance!

Frankly these look great (to me). Other than adding, perhaps, a hover class to each, I see no need to improve.

    Looks great!

I’m curious as to how Ionut Zamfir created his own share buttons.

@ChristopherBurton They are just a design, not actually functional.

Yes, agreed. Pretty sure Google and Facebook in particular don’t want you using anything but their buttons.

I think it has to do with people being malicious with the buttons and for users to feel safe if they click on it.

@Paulie_D I’m not sure if you visited the link, they certainly do have hover states :)

@sl1dr they do…the over state is a bit subtle on my quite bright monitor although the position shift ought to have given it away. :)
