I tried searching all over google but can’t find anyone even talking about anything similar to this.

    The problem:

When the user highlights a section of text and tries to use print selection the CSS counters get reset. We are using counters for numbering the steps in a web based manual.

    **Example as displayed on webpage:**

1-1.1 This is step 1 of the procedure.

    A. This is substep A of 1-1.1

1-1.2 This is step 2 of the procedure.

    A. This is substep A of 1-1.2

    B. This is substep B of 1-1.2

1-1.3 This is step 3 of the procedure.

**Example of print selection if user highlights steps 2 and 3:**

1-1.1 This is step 2 of the procedure.

    A. This is substep A of 1-1.2

    B. This is substep B of 1-1.2

1-1.2 This is step 3 of the procedure.
