    Hi Everyone,

First off, I don’t have a link to share as the project hasn’t even been started yet, however, I’m simply planning how I will go about approaching my footer background image. So, any ideas as to the “best” approach is greatly appreciated.

I want to put a cityscape background image along the footer of the site—the cityscape will be at 100% width. With that said, how big wide should I make this cityscape? I have already researched screen resolutions, so I have an idea of the biggest screen resolution. Should I simply factor that into the width of the cityscape, or would it be wiser to make a cityscape shorter in width, and simply feather the edges to blend into the background? The cityscape, unfortunately, cannot be repeated with CSS as all of the buildings are different.

I’m not one to use big background images, so any ideas on a usable/friendly way to pull this off is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks very much,
    Rob

If image size is important to you then the feather / fade option is probably your best bet.

Thanks Paulie! I am thinking this is probably my best route to go as well.
