    Is it ever practical to have multiple header tags — for example, two different kinds of h2 tags — on the same page?

    The argument for this would be that different sections have a different header hierarchies (sidebars vs. page content) where two different subheadings — h2’s — might make sense.

    I haven’t run into a place where this was absolutely necessary, but was more curious about the accepted thinking.



    You can certainly have multiple header tags.


    I use multiple instances of headings myself, it is perfectly acceptable with HTML5.
