cascading issues

ok i must be stupid.
i have in my stylesheet an h2{} later on the page i have an h2 with an id so i want to style this one differently then all other h2 so i made h2 #different{}

but the style are not taking effect there are using the first h2 and not the id
why not?

ok so i had a space between h2 and the #id in the stylesheet and when i got rid of the space and now it says h2#id{} it works.

dont i put a space? I’m going inside h2?
or h2 has the id so no space?
