Can't find reason for height of line - CSS-Tricks

Hi all,

I can’t figure out why the yellow coloured lines inside the menu (click on a menu item) are at the height that they are and push the text down underneath the line below it.

I hope I’m explaining this clear enough and that someone can help me out :)
