Blog Critique – From a High Schooler

Hi everyone,
I am a high school student and I am starting a blog. It isn’t quite done yet, but it is getting pretty close. I would appreciate any critique and any suggestions. It lives (currently) at http://www.ethoma.com/wp/. Thank you!

It’s totally not coincidence that it fits. Just thought I’d throw that out there.

On a more serious note, the site is constructed decently. I’m not much a fan of the overall design and think it could use some work, I also don’t see a reason for that giant drop-down thing in the upper right, seems pretty pointless. I’d add some padding on that footer just so it doesn’t get stuck under anything (like in Chrome when you hover the status bar can appear right where you put your footer).

I am also a high school student, and am almost finished with my mom and dad’s site check it out but as far as yours I love it.

@fordinary: I know that it might not be the best choice as far as design goes but black background and white text is actually more readable then the reverse.

@fordinary – Be encouraging like @joshwhite has been. We are all continuously learning and need to give constructive criticism without coming off negatively. It will benefit you in the long run when you need help here.

@fordinary What background would you suggest for a 5 month out of a year christmas shop? And give me a break I’m still learning, I’ve only been in it for about five months. I bet your first one wasn’t the greatest either.
