What are they? I’d like the link to open in the phone’s native map application.
In the past simply linking to Google Maps worked for iPhone & Android, but with the release of iOS6 Apple Maps takes the place of the native application for iPhones, and the Google Maps links open in Safari . Apple explains how to link to THEIR application, but is there any way to ensure that a map URL opens in whatever native app exists?
For example, it would open in Apple Maps on an iOS6 devices, Google Maps on an iOS5 device, and Google Maps on an Android device.
