I am about to start working for an eCommerce business who sell shoes. They currently have a website with a bespoke, hand-coded PHP shopping cart system which works ok but they want to re-vamp the whole site and go CMS. I know a bit of WordPress (and so far like it a lot) so suggested that as a route.
My question is this: is there a way of integrating the current PHP shopping cart code into WordPress (I suppose as a set of custom functions or turn it into a custom plugin) or would it be easier and just as effective to use a plugin like WP-eCommerce (although I’ve not read many glowing reviews of that particular one).
Many thanks in advance
