Hi I have a word press installation located here..

Unfortunately a client pressed the upgrade button the other day and now the site is experiencing problems. I cannot seem to login into Admin control panel.
I have tried resetting password and that doesn’t work.
I have looked at the instructions for a manual upgrade.
It seems I need to overwrite all files except for the wp-content directory?
Should I also rename all of the plugins I have so that they are disabled?
Advice/help appreciated.
