you won’t see much if you have a large screen, so if you make your window smaller in height you will see the effect.
on my page here i have set it to scroll down automatically to the area needed.
do you find this annoying and would this be appropriate on other pages?
Personally, I don’t find this user-friendly. I’m always a bit annoyed taken aback when a page does something that I didn’t trigger.
it might be annoying for some users but it might also be helpful for people on laptops with shorter screens.
i personally don’t have a problem with it.
It’s not expected behaviour, and anything that goes against what a user expects is dangerous territory. I’m personally not a fan of it.

I don’t mind it so much, I’d leave the autoscroll out on the index page though.
