CSS beginner here. I am using Anything Slider to show content from a Weather Station. The station uploads content with the ° (degree) symbol in the text.

The CSS code is not translating it properly and shows it as a generic box instead.

    Any do around?

Thats not a CSS error. It’s due to inconsistency in which character sets the two applications are using…

I cannot give you any further help without more knowledge about the situation.

If I can figure out the inconsistency, is there a conversion code? If so, where do I put it? In JavaScript, in CSS, or in HTML?

    You can use:
    ° or °

Ah, and I’ve just read that it’s being automatically generated. Make sure your character encoding is set to utf-8.

Thank you. Seems this is a chronic problem with WeatherLink software for my weather station.

Your ideas, TheDoc, helped me solve this. I’m grateful for your help.
