I’ve been doing websites as a hobby in my free time and i realized i could not stop using floats for my columns and doing that ‘clear:both’ method to let the main wrapper expands with the content in the column. Also i’m addicted to faux columns because it just makes creating websites so easy and i don’t have to use hacks or work arounds (which i have no idea how to do it).

Is there any other methods that are easy and requires no "complicated hacks" and not using float to do a column page?

Tables are what people used to use.

I’m trying not to use tables. It does solves some of the complicated problems but thats not what i want.

Floats are a perfectly accepted way to achieve what you’re describing!
