Hi, I would like to know a good text editor why you like it and why does it make it better than the others.
http://notepad-plus-plus.org/ is a really good free one … but what I like the most is http://www.sublimetext.com/ … you can try this one out for free but if you would like to continue use with this program you are supposed to buy a license for it
@Dakrneveah Sublime Text is fantastic, but if you are going to keep using it after you have tested it out, make sure that you do the right thing and buy a license.
@Dakrneveah, I agree with both the previous comments. Notepad++ and Sublime Text 2 are both amazing. I tend to switch between both of them about every month or so just to change things up.
Well it depends, are you on mac or windows?
On mac, TextMate 2 is open source and free, and I’ve had no bugs. I can send you a link to the newest compiled version.
Then there’s Tincta, Fraise, Komodo Edit (mac & windows) for mac.
For windows I like Notepad++, but haven’t tried anything else really.
+1 For Komodo Edit, one of my favorites.
If you want to rock out some java i prefer NetBeans and Eclipse. If you are rockin C/C#, ASP.net, VB(ewww) than i suggest Microsoft Visual Studio. Just remember, VS2010 install IIS as the default running server so if you run apache or something for PHP than you need to disable IIS, or install the php plugin for IIS.
