    I’ve watched screencast no. 73, its packed full of good information. I’m wondering if anyone has made a similar more updated version of a screencast, that also focuses on building a wordpress theme from scratch?

    Chris has a theme tutorial on wordpress.tv thats three parts and is pretty good. Another good one is on themeforest blog , the tut is called wordpress for designers, its 18 videos and they are extremely helpful for beginning building themes. A more advanced theming source in book form may be “Digging into wordpress” and “wicked wordpress themes”, digging into.. is probably the most thorugh though.

    The Creating and Editing Custom Themes tutorial on Lynda.com is also really good.
