Hey guys, I’m looking for a little help in building a membership site for a client of mine.

Basically, I want a site where I can sell membership/subscription packages for the site, that includes a blog, galleries and forums.

I don’t have very much experience so far and I feel like I’ve been banging my head against a brick wall forthe last couple of weeks.

I tried to get my head around Drupal as it offers all the functionality that I need, but I found it far too difficult to customise to the level that I would require for this site. I’ve had a quick look at Joomla and WordPress but I wanted a little help before I get stuck into a new CMS. If possible, I would prefer to build the site from scratch with html/css/php, but I don’t know how hard it would be to make a script that will manage the members and their accounts.

If you were to create a site like this, how would you go about creating it? At the moment I feel that there are a lot of options out there, but without knowing more, it’s impossible for me to make an informed decision.
