Add class to <ul> in sidebar widget

Hi, I am new to WordPress themes and I found ‘class’ => ”, parameter on this page Codex Function / Register Sidebar but this does not work, please help me I want to add class to widget ul.

Not really sure what is the error. I take “not working” as “class is not displaying when it should do”. Any chance you could supply a code or something? Maybe a link to your website?

Please be aware this is not adding a class to the sidebar, but to inserted widget’s wrapper.

I am working on a bootstrap 3 theme for WordPress and it is on localhost, ‘class’ => ‘list-group’, also does not add any class to widget, I wanted to add “list-group” class to <ul> and “list-group-item” class to >li>

is there any way to filter or anything like this?
