well I don’t think the content area actually fits as part of the page, I see it more as a content bubble sitting on the page, thats why you have the opaque pink.

but if it was me I would make the outer opaque content box have padding all round the main more lighter pink content box, keep it kind of uniform.

it cuts off too straight to the bottom of the lighter inner content box.

edit: the main background looks like it has a gradient then a solid colour, but they are different and has a clear seperate difference and does not toally blend in, is that meant?

Of course he wants the visitors to stay :-) But what do you mean? I didnt get the thing about the menu..

THe background has a gradient and then a solid color at the bottom yes… The gradient goes from one color to another one, and the last one is the same as the solid color..
