This is entirely up to MailChimp. If they want you to include your address then it’s entirely their right to insist you do.
This will be in their terms and conditions which you must agree to before you can use their service. If you have a problem with them your best course of action would be to contact MailChimp directly and ask them for clarification on the issue.
