How much control do you have over the markup [slash] how much are you willing to change? Because the most direct way would be to wrap the link around the outer container instead of nesting it as the most inner child.

Keeping the existing markup and using CSS only, you could make all the inner elements display: block(if they aren’t by default) and increase their sizes to 100%.
