It sort of sounds like you might be using name.com’s website builder to edit your documents? If so, that could explain why you’re seeing extraneous code in your HTML.

If you aren’t already, I would recommend working on your website in a local environment, and using a simple text editor like Brackets to write your code. Then upload your files when they’re finished.
