Retrofitting an existing site that isn’t currently responsive is always going to be a piece of work…unless it’s just a few pages.

There are a lot of frameworks out there, Bootstrap is just the one that people mention a lot…it’s popular with new users but many feel it’s too heavy to be used in toto…so they use the customise option just to take the bits they want.

Do a google search for, say, “Top 5 CSS frameworks” to see what other options might appeal.
