Welcome to the new look for CSS-Tricks. I decided it was time to get down to it and give CSS-Tricks a brand new look. I hope you like it. I think it’s far nicer in both form and function than the old site. Please, if you have any feedback, suggestions or comments let me know by using the contact form, emailing me, or just leaving a comment.

The only problem I have with it is that on a slow modem and load up the white background appears last which means until it loads up the text is unreadable…
Like I said, only real problem and it is fairly minor. Well done!
I find it very cool and “useable”. Congratulations !
while sending my com, I had the same problem as Jermayn, the white background took a while to appears even with a high-DSL.
It looks clean and nice. But I see horizontal scroll at 1024×768 and it ruins everything.
Overall, nice design! Yet, as others experienced, even with DSL it took a while before the white background materialised. That didn’t look too pretty with the other backgrounds showing through.
Thanks everyone! I am going to take a look at both the “white loads last” issue and the horizontal scrolling at 1024×768 resolution. I really hope to have both of these things solved soon.
I dont know if this would solve the problem, but what if the white was listed near the top in the css and or html page.
I think I fixed it actually. I just made sure that background: white; was declared for all the appropriate elements. Before, those elements were just inheriting that background color from their parent elements, which apparently didn’t kick in until later in the page load. That’s a pretty good CSS-Trick actually! I should write that up.
I do not know if this tip will actually work but let us know if it does.
@Adrian: I fixed the horizontal scroll thing happening at 1024×768 resolution. I hope that makes the site nicer for all those folks!
