wordpress subscription and registration

  • # April 12, 2012 at 2:15 pm

so im working on my sidebar in my wordpress theme and I am up to having a subscription button.

i notice that people have rss subscriptions. So then what is the point of the wordpress subscription?
you know a wordpress subscriber? with a profile and stuff?

I see thats not as popular on wordpress blogs. whenever I see a blog there usually is no register button just a subscribe to rss.

Also can you create a number to represent how many are registered to your site? l see many blogs have a subscription count for their rss.

Most of the time a registration button is only used if you want users to be able to contribute to the website. In 99/100 cases you’ll just want to remove it.

    Thanks I see.
Some blogs I see have premium content and I’m guessing that falls into the 1% that use registration?
