    Hi everyone,

I’m new to the forums, and I’m also new to WordPress. After some time working with Joomla, I stumbled on to CMS Made Simple, which in my opinion tears Joomla to shreds in usability.

However, in the last few weeks I’ve been giving WordPress some investigation and I am getting more and more impressed with it as a platform for a CMS driven multifunctional platform.

Anyway, I’d like to build myself a WordPress theme and really dig into it because I think the simplicity will really benefit my clients. But I’m having trouble getting a hold of a really good tutorial on what I’m doing to create a new theme. I’ve been poking around some random googled pages, but it’s not been really substantial.

Can anyone lead me on the right path to enlightenment?

    Thanks!

Great thanks so much. I’ll start in on that – I also found some of Chris’ tutorials, which are being quite helpful!

This was the one that got me started, one of the oldest but still one of the best and, I think, still relevant http://www.wpdesigner.com/2007/02/19/so-you-want-to-create-wordpress-themes-huh/
