WordPress advice

  • # August 30, 2013 at 6:49 am

Hey, I am about to set up a comments/chat function on a wordpress website. The user needs to register with name, email and password. Then they should be able to comment/chat with their user ID.

Can someone recommend an easy but secure way to do this, please?

    Thank you.

It’s in the settings: ‘Settings’ then ‘Discussion’, and under the ‘Other comment settings’ you will see ‘Users must be registered and logged in to comment ‘. Check it to enable.

Yes it’s part of the core functionality as FragaGeddon says. If you want more features (you mention security) you could use the s2 member plugin. The free version is fine for most users and you can control what your members can see, download etc. It can also integrate with a mailchimp mailing list so useful if you’re building a mailing list.

    Hope that helps.
