Interesting…This is my 40th year of coding..I started, of course, with punching my own cards and carrying them around…no screens there…then there was TSO on a SHARED dumb terminal…the terminals were all in a single room and you got one, if you got there early enough…Work consisted of whatever coffee one could get and copious cigarettes…right at the terminal…every few days beat the keyboard on the desk to get the ashes out (made the keys stick)….No more cigarettes..of course…no more dumb terminals…but concentration on the solution to a problem is always required.. 70’s r&r is the only music for valid code…be it COBOL or Javascript…Telon or CSS…nothing has changed…Just the idiot behind the keyboard…I suppose Dragon will eliminate the keyboard eventually…or a thought processing helmet…or…
