what is the best solution

    Hey everyone,

ok, I got 2 weeks to get 2 sites up and running, one that is nearly complete (a couple of pages content needs completed) and a sub site of this main site. However the sub site has to be a standalone (currently getting the hosting company to let me know the best solution to a complicated scenario)

ok my main question is about authorisation & users.

I need to have an authorisation to the main site, as only certain types of people should be accessing this site (like a company intranet).
the site should be accessible to all who have the domain name and authentication.
but I am going to need to add in a sign up for users, to access things like a members section.

what would be the best way to deal with this?
having the .htaccess deal with this or php?

Also the site will have wordpress although not sure if users will have to sign up for this one, but I don’t want to have people signing in all over the place.

    ik
