    I would like to create a very simple form to enable people to submit their e-mail address and that’s it. This is going to be in a wordpress site, so I’d like to use jQuery to hide the form after submission and display a message with a small conformation that their email was received. Anyone have any experience in this?

    I’d recommend Contact Form 7. It’s amazingly robust. You can customize it to do just about anything.
