Stripped down wp3 site

Hi

I am trying to make a portfolio page, and I need to strip my wordpress down.
I don’t need the following:

-all metadata
-searchbar
-date and time[/list:u]

What I want to make is a portfolio page that is basically one page with posts. No pages and further reading on the posts, but each post has a slideshow.

Here is the html mock-up:

This seems to be much more difficult in wp3…
